Come Here and Don’t Think About It // 11.04.26 // 7PM

OINK is delighted to present DONK’S solo exhibition, Come Here and Don’t Think About It.’

Donk’s fresh new collection will be presented for the first time at Oink Gallery, featuring a brand new selection of originals, hand-finished screen prints and his signature bold playful style. This includes several new works that are a departure from his usual style, exploring new techniques within his practice.

Donk’s work captivates and mesmerises, inviting viewers to reflect on themes of human growth, resilience and imagination. His imagery often creates a moment of pause for the viewer, drawing them into scenes that feel both nostalgic and surreal, encouraging a personal emotional response that lingers beyond the first glance.

"Come here and don’t think about."

Is something my partner said to me that made me smile. Out of context, it’s a curious, almost cryptic command, yet it felt like the perfect title for my show at Oink.

The phrase captures the essence of both creating and consuming art—whether visual or musical. It describes that vital first step: making oneself available and stepping into the unknown without prejudice, simply to take the trip.

While the destination is never guaranteed, the initial thrill lies in that raw openness; the willingness to see how an experience makes you feel.

In an era so often defined by darkness and cynicism, these creative excursions feel more essential than ever. They are essentially a space for our sanity, and serve as a reminder of the freedom that still exists out there somewhere in the ether.

ABOUT DONK

Donk is a photographer, printmaker, and street artist. Following a career in commercial photography and the life-changing experience of fatherhood, he adopted the moniker ‘Donk’ to pursue a personal creative vision rooted in a renewed awareness that: to play is to learn.

Drawn to the ephemeral nature of street art and its direct dialogue with the environment, he began pasting his work across London in 2008.

His images are largely constructed from his own photography and frequently feature his friends and family. He translates these initial images into handmade graphic screen prints through a playful, collaborative process. Within this practice, he explores universal themes of human strength, vulnerability, and the passing of time, often alluding to the bittersweet nature of life.

Donk deftly balances symbolism, visual allegory, and emotion to invite deep connection and personal interpretation, and ultimately seeks to impart a sense of hope for our shared humanity.

If you are looking for a visually striking artwork to add to your interiors, ‘Come Here and Don’t Think About It’ is not to be missed!
